Kabru Radhi Rug

from 750.00

Radhi are traditional woven and felted blankets which are worn and used as floor coverings in Nepal.  Reinterpreting traditional motifs, we have designed a rug collection featuring modern, geometric patterns.

Our radhi rugs are hand woven in Kathmandu by a community of weavers and spinners. The artisans weave on traditional back strap looms, using the thick wool from their own flock of mountain Baruwhal sheep.  The rugs are then washed in hot water which felts the wool, and brings the whole design together.

The charcoal and off-white colours of the wool are completely natural and undyed, so there may be some slight colour variation from rug to rug.

All rugs supplied in a smart natural calico tote bag.

We recommend use of an anti-slip rug underlay with this product, which we can supply.  Email us for details: info@stitchbystitch.eu
